How-To Signup For Private/Cruiser Accounts

  

  1. Submit the one-time $40.00 activation/setup charge for new accounts. Not applicable for renewals of service subscriptions. 

  2. Fill out the activation form completely.

  3. MarineNet Wireless contacts you at the e-mail address in your application (Below) on how-to install/setup your account and where to download software.

  • Charges based on $10.00 per month base rate plus the amount of data used.

  • Data sold in "100K Data Blocks" worth at $6.00 USD per block paid monthly.

  • First Month Pricing: $40.00 setup/activation, $10.00 maintenance/WebMail access monthly, $6.00 first 100K data block. Total Due at activation: $56.00.

  • Free E-mail Forwarding Service to any POP3 account when not using wireless for customers maintaining active accounts.

  • SCS PTC License Keys available from MarineNet Wireless $150.00

  • Daily time limits of 20 minutes per day apply to Cruiser Plan.

  • One Hour "Tech Time" included for setup and testing. Optional service/consultation plans available for computer and SSB.

  •  Maximum Size "Per Message" is limited to 100K  for Cruiser Accounts.

  • MarineNet Wireless is a Public Shore Station Service therefore all business transactions as well as other types of legitimate e-mail traffic via wireless are accepted. Amateur Radios are prohibited for usage on commercial services and are not supported.

Billing Note: 

  • For months where you use more than the first 100K data block, MarineNet submits a on-line payment request for that amount billed in 100K blocks at $6.00 USD each.

  •  If monthly usage of data blocks it higher than 100K consistently, MarineNet may opt to adjust the monthly amount to match usage as to not continually make monthly payment request.

  • Subscription Payment on this page is your base fees for Activation and base monthly subscription only. 100K data blocks consumed beyond the initial 400K will be billed to you monthly.

  • Free E-mail Forwarding Service from MarineNet to another POP3 e-mail account for customers maintaining active accounts.

  • Commercial rate plan has no daily time limits due to large amounts of data used i.e. Logs, Weather or Position Reporting.

  •  Base fee charge of 400K worth of data monthly.

  • Web Access Accounting to view amount of data used monthly.

  • This plan is designed for large amounts of data required for commercial operations of better than 100K weekly.

  •  Computer/Tech support has 2 hours included for installation/networking issues. Additional service contracts available.

  • Amateur Radios or non type accepted radios are prohibited for usage in commercial services and are not supported.

  • 30 minute response time 9am to 5pm, 3 hour after 5pm to major technical issues like not getting wireless mail etc.

NOTES: 

  • 100K Data Block is defined as ALL data passing to/from the shore stations. Special care MUST be exercised to insure auto-update features/programs are disabled in your computer due to driving up the data traffic cost without your knowledge! Any program/software updates should only be done when connected to a wired/land Internet connection.

  • MarineNet Wireless makes available free tools to help control much of the unnecessary data activity however, it is the sole responsibility of the user for data traffic to/from the wireless account and maintenance of radio equipment.

  • SSB Radio and Pactor Modem are required for service. Equipment can be purchased from MarineNet Wireless or affiliate stations.

  • Non commercial or non-type accepted radios such as those designed for Amateur Radio are prohibited and no technical support will be given for operation of non-commercial radios.

      Note: MarineNet uses the SCS Professional Internet Bridge (PIB) firmware plus Pactor-III designed and sold by SCS. This enhanced mode requires a firmware upgrade that makes the Pactor-II modem now appear to your computer, to "act" like an external Hayes telephone modem for it's "Dial-up" connection, similar to a dial-up home account.... Just no wires! Pa

     A license key is required and provided by SCS to for high speed wireless network services on MarineNet Wireless. This firmware and our installer program upgrades the modem to Pactor-III which offers 4 to 8 times the speed of standard Pactor-II's transmission mode. Cost per license plus Pactor-III upgrade from SCS is $150.00 and is well worth the investment.

     MarineNet Wireless High speed wireless e-mail packages features FastMail Wireless E-Mail that also requires a license and key however, this fee is built into the HF SSB E-Mail service package itself. FastMail Standard SSB Accounts

  1. Wireless Internet E-mail address for SSB/HF Marine: SSB E-Mail accounts are based on the FCC ship call letters. Example, wxy1234@marinenet.net Accounts can be accessed anywhere in the world via wireless, direct Internet connection or our WebMail service. Largest message handling transfers in the industry.. Much higher then ANY currently available SSB e-mail service. Unlimited time usage on Satellite service. (Normal Sat. per minute charges apply)

  2. Mail forwarding: If you wish to have your wireless e-mail forwarded or duplicates kept on a land account, this function can requested to be turned on or off. Comes in handy when you need to keep your documents in a safe place with E-mail copies at home or office!!!

  3. Advanced Mail Filtering Customer adjustable message size limiter over 50K from jamming up your SSB e-mail. Sends messages too big for wireless transmission to a special folder for pick-up via WebMail while on shore. Time consuming HTML messages are converted to Plain Text for best possible speed... copies of the original stored in you WebMail account. Create you own mail filters yourself.

  4. Server Side Virus Scanning: Before any mail is sent to your wireless account, it is run through the most current antivirus program available! You and the sender will be notified if one is located. Saves the customer time and frustration of constantly trying to keep antivirus programs up to date while mobile!

  5. Web Mail: When it is inconvenient to access you account via SSB or Satellite... MarineNet provides Internet WebMail services. This advanced web mail system allows you the customer, full account management such as: Add  folders / Create your own mail filters / Send/Receive mail with spell checker included via WebMail on any Internet connection.

  6. Wireless E-Mail Client Allows multiple Dial-up Accounts: Gives you the ability to switch between Mobile Wireless to land based Internet connections like to your office/home Internet account! This feature give you the flexibility of one e-mail program to be used for all your e-mail needs... wired or wireless! (Note: Due to the lack of versatility or Spam protection filters of some land ISP networks, we cannot guarantee operation on all service providers via landline connections.   7. Weather/Information service: Provided by professional 3rd party vendors gives you  basic to advanced weather. GRIB weather mapping that downloads to your wireless e-mail address plus our "Wireless Friendly" web site makes available NWS links and more.

  8. High level tech support: E-mail Us to assist in setup and operation of MarineNet's FastMail.

          Marine Wireless Internet FastMail Service will begin after notification of  application acceptance/payment to MarineNet Radio or agents within 24 hours. Key codes are required for operation, they are issued for the length of service you pre-pay for. At the end of the service agreement, you may request additional service and new Wireless Key codes will be issued to you within 24 hours. For Maritime customers at sea: It is the customer responsibility  to secure payment arrangements to MarineNet Wireless, or agent. Due to MarineNet's flat rate billing, maritime customers should purchase 6 or 12 months at a time to alleviate any billing issues while at sea. It is the customers responsibility to contact MarineNet Wireless or agent, when service comes due. Adherence to this is mandatory or customer can expect service interruptions or, possibly a deposit will be required. Late payments may result in loss of service

     The customers understands and agrees that MarineNet Wireless or agents are not responsible for service outages in any manner due to wireless providers or Internet circuit trouble.
