Notice to customers
Of Ocens Weather, Ocens E-mail service or GMN E-mail service...
Updated: 7-12-04
It was discovered while servicing a customers trouble
ticket of "No Access" to his MarineNet Wireless e-mail
service that, they had just installed Ocens WeatherNet product
when his service with MarineNet FastSuite failed to contact the mail
server at mail.marinenet.net
MarineNet's investigation and several satellite calls with the
customer, we found his "Hosts Table" had been modified to
accept Ocens Internet address but not MarineNet Wireless mail server connections
which were being diverted to an old IP address for MarineNet by the Ocens
WeatherNet installation program.
The result, no access to MarineNet when Ocens WeatherNet,
E-mail service or Global Marine Networks (One in the same) installer is used.
John Heron of MarineNet has contacted Ocens about this situation with their
product and they should be in contact with their customers shortly on a fix. It
is important to download the latest Ocens WeatherNet product available from the
Ocens website however if you are still having this problem of loss of connection
to the MarineNet Wireless mail server contact service@marinenet.net
for assistance or, use the Host
Administrator program to remove all IP addresses except Microsoft's
stock localhost IP address of 127.0.0.1
If your currently experiencing issues with access after
installing Ocens Weather product, to MarineNet Wireless services, please contact
Ocens as soon as possible.
Again, this effects customers that have installed or
demo'ed Ocens WeatherNet, E-mail or Global Marinenet product. The quickest
fix to resolve this is to download and run "Host Administrator"
which can be found in our "Downloads for Wireless" page to remove any
and all references to the following IP addresses: mail.marinenet.net,
mailmarinenet.net www.marinenet.net or
web/marinenet.net (Basically ANY reference to marinenet.net)
